Ed Sheeran-Penned Song Target Of Copyright Lawsuit

Ed Sheeran and country superstars Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are all facing a copyright lawsuit targeting a song Sheeran co-wrote for the pair. A complaint was filed yesterday in New York federal court by two Australians who allege the McGraw-Hill track “The Rest of Our Life” is a blatant copy of their 2014 song “When I Found You.” Sean Carey and Beau Golden state in their complaint that the copying is, in many instances, “verbatim, note-for-note” of original elements of their song and are seeking injunctive relief and at least five-million dollars in damages plus profits.
