A new study has revealed that Monopoly is the world’s most overhyped board game — and it’s bad news for the families who consider it a games night staple. Multiplayer card game site World of Card Games analysed customer reviews for over 1,000 board games to determine which popular games don’t live up to expectations, awarding them an ‘overhyped’ score out of 100 based on key factors. Monopoly came in first with an overhyped score of 73.8 out of 100. This is largely due to its poor average rating of just 4.6 across over a whopping 35,000 reviews.
