30 Mar Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj Track Facing Copyright Lawsuit

Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj’s hit “Side to Side” is the subject of a copyright lawsuit filed by a Texas artist. In a recent interview, Christopher R. O’Connor says his lawsuit claims that the hit off Grande’s 2016 album “Dangerous Woman” is a carbon copy of his original song “J5 (T6).” O’Connor alleges his song was acquired by Grande’s record label, then copied for Grande’s hit. He’s seeking royalties from Universal Music Group Recordings – not Grande or Minaj – in addition to songwriting credits for the track.
